    My initial skepticism upon hearing this theory for the first time withered considerably in the face of my subsequent re-read, I’m afraid. Let’s face it, we don’t have nearly enough information to make a confident claim in either direction, but something funky’s going on. The bit that worries me more than any other is Jojen saying Bran’s not the one who needs to be afraid, implying that he, Jojen, DOES need to be afraid. That’s more of a cause for concern than either the bloody-seeming paste itself or the human sacrifices to the weirwoods that Davos hears about and Bran witnesses, I think, since Jojen by rights should be out of danger given that he’s in the Children of the Forest’s Batcave.
