He's stated repeatedly that "killing is the sweetest thing", and there was the whole bit about putting "women in the ground" when he was going back and forth with Bronn. You can also see all the times he glowers or flinches when Sansa is harmed in front of him.

    Yeah, it’ll work fine. He’s a rough customer; he’s supposed to be scary and intimidating and I’m guessing that’s how he comes across to newcomers even if we readers may find ourselves wishing for a little more of the cancerous fury that consumes him in the books; he’ll have plenty to taunt with and atone for.
